Southern California Wildfire Relief
In response to the 2025 Southern California wildfires, the Farwest Region of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. organized a community support event on January 11, 2025, at Zion Hill Baptist Church to assist affected families. The event provided meals, clothing, hygiene products, and access to relief funds, with support from members, local volunteers, and other organizations within the Divine Nine. An ongoing donation campaign has also been launched to continue providing resources and financial assistance for families rebuilding their lives. This initiative reflects our region's commitment to public service and its ability to mobilize quickly in times of need.

HBCU Scholarship Initiative
The Farwest Region is dedicated to raising
funds for members in our region who are pursuing their
education at an HBCU. By supporting this initiative, we are not only investing in individual students but also in the legacy of Black education, leadership, and service.
Our members know firsthand the value
of an HBCU experience—the sense of
community, the rigorous academic foundation,
and the lifelong network of support. Now, we have
the chance to extend that legacy to the next wave
of scholars who will carry our traditions forward.
Be on the lookout for more information about
the launch of this important initiative.
Hawaii IMPACT Day of Service
As part of IMPACT Day of Service, the Farwest Region of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. partnered with U.S. VETS to distribute 2,000 personal care kits to unhoused veterans on O’ahu. This initiative supported U.S. VETS’ mission to help veterans and their families transition from homelessness to independence. Sorority leaders, many who are veterans themselves, emphasized the deep personal significance of this project and the power of service and sisterhood. While Hawaii has made significant progress in reducing veteran homelessness, efforts like this IMPACT Day ensure continued support for those who have bravely served.

"Lift Me Up" Haiti Fundraiser
The Farwest Region received incredible support of our "Lift Me Up" Haiti Fundraiser, where we raised $59,000 to support students at the Cynthia M.A. Butler-McIntyre School in Cherette, Haiti, surpassing our $50,000 goal. The generosity shown made a profound impact on these students, opening up new opportunities for their future.
